Public
consultation
Article 11 of the Government of
Mauritania's 2004 Environmental Impact Assessment Decree requires
a description of how the public consultation will be done as
part of the scoping phase. Requirements of the public consultation
itself are outlined in the Government of Mauritania's 2007 Environmental
Impact Assessment Decree.
We can provide advice on how this should be done as well as
carrying out the public consultation itself. This includes all
logistical matters such as tent hire, transport, provision of
electricity, interpreters, local advertising, informing relevant
stakeholders etc. To achieve this we work with a Mauritanian
NGO that has had many years of experience in carrying out Public
Consultation.

Public Consultation, social and economic surveys are an
essential part of an EIA. Interviews and published data
are assessed to determine the social impact a project
may have.
Anglo Articles has worked for several years with a Mauritanian
sociologist and an economist to carry out a socio-economic
baseline survey and to |

local people's hope and fears arising from large mining
projects. We highly recommend our team for your social assessments. |
