Environmental Management Plan

The objective of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) is to ensure that resources are managed sustainably. This must be written according to the guidelines given in Mauritanian environmental legislation. A Site Rehabilitation Plan (SRP) is also required by the Mauritanian government to ensure that the environment of a project is restored as closely as possible to its original state. Unlike the EMP, the SRP is not part of an EIA but must be submitted as a separate document. This should be completed at least two years before the end of the project.
