Research
Anglo Articles is at the forefront
of environmental research in West Africa. Over the years we
have compiled a substantial database of environmental documents
and maps relating to West Africa in general and Mauritania in
particular.
One of our research projects (which
was carried out in collaboration with scientists from the USA)
has been aimed at promoting the neem tree Azadirachta indiana
(Meliaceae) . Our findings have shown that neem trees vary in
their fruiting times according to location in Mauritania, and
indeed, throughout West Africa
Our findings have also shown that
neem trees grow in suboptimal conditions compared to those of
their country of origin (India). This is evident from the stunted
height of Mauritanian neem tress compared to average Indian
neem tree height.
